things we love now

There are so many things we love this summer, well every summer: the heat, the beach, the lake, good friends and even better food. In fashion we have been loving crop tees and muscle tanks with cute sayings. How cute is this tank with the YSL label and YOLO underneath? To die for in my opinion, for the best muscle tanks check out Urban Outfitters and Brandy Melville. On days where I'm feeling too fancy to wear jean cutoffs I pull out one of my many dresses. Let's be real that dress totally belongs on Pinterest doesn't it?

Sticking with the skirts I love the asymmetrical hemline of the red/orange skirt. It's the perfect thing to add sophistication to any outfit.  Even better these have a hidden short under the skirt so you get the elegance of a skirt with the comfort of shorts.  My other favorite skirt is just a simple high-waisted skirt or the circle skirt. Love the colors of this tribal print skirt.

For shoes this summer I've been loving simple flats with a gold cap on lazy summer days. Another look I've been loving is wearing converse with circle shirts for the ultimate hipster Cali look. And for the days when I want to seem taller than my short stature I wear comfy wedges.

great gatsby trailer

Today the Great Gatsby Trailer came out and I can not be more excited to see it! I read the Great Gatsby my junior year in high school and I loved it. It's such a good, exciting book and the best part for those of you who don't like reading long books its a relatively short classic. In my renewed excitement in the society of the 1920's I had to make a polyvore below.

summer day

I love pretty zigzag tank tops so I just had to make an outfit with basic white jeans, metallic glitter flats, a red satin envelope clutch and my favorite the heart shaped sunglasses. Enjoy!

Dress like Nicole Richie

Nicole Richie is one of my style icons because we are both petite. Choosing style icons that are around your bodytype is helpful in choosing what clothes and style you should wear to fit your body type. I love all her House of Harlow 1960 designs especially the shoes, they are to die for. Hope you enjoy!

Designers we love//Deux Lux

So yesterday I went shopping with my mom at Marshalls and I scooped up the above Deux Lux with the quilted hearts. From far away it looks remarkably similar to the quilted chanel bags but obviously not since I got them for $44. Besides, one of my favorite things to doodle on my notes, handouts etc. is little hearts so the bag just fits me perfectly. I came home, went on their website and was amazed at all of the bags, wallets etc. they have to offer. Most of their stuff is really well made faux letter for half the price of their designer counterparts.

After watching a recent episode of Jane By Design I've been fascinated by the idea of Neon. Last year I did a dance to Girls Just Wanna Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper that allowed me to wear neon tops, sports bras and leggings. Let's just say I was having more fun than I should.

reed krakoff bag

Photobucket
I saw this gorgeous Reed Krakoff bag on polyvore, but it's too bad that I'm fairly certain the bag retails for over one grand. That's just way to expensive for me to buy but less expensive look a likes can be found if you search hard enough. Most of the outfit is black and white but I threw in some red and gold accessories to spice up the look.

Boutiques we love//Anthropologie

Photobucket
I love Anthropologie even though it's a bit pricey for the quality of items they have. Visiting their store though is almost like going to the thrift store. You can find amazingly inexpensive stuff if you dig though things. In fact one of my favorite things about the store is the atmosphere, it's decorated so beautifully it's like you stepped into a forest. Every time I visit the store I take forever perusing the shelves looking at the interesting bracelets, necklaces and home accessories they have. Even if you don't buy anything it's just too much fun to go shopping at the store.

chambray and burgundy

Photobucket
I was fooling around on polyvore today during my free period when I realized an amazing color combination is Burgundy and Chambray so I created an outfit that I think would work perfectly. Possibly my favorite part of the outfit is the Asos bag which retails at $40.

i cant believe they exist-sweater edition

Photobucket
When I first saw these sweaters on polyvore I had this WTF look on my face. But after looking at it more I realized if ugly Grandma sweaters and Christmas sweaters could be in and "hot" why not these crazy sweaters with celebrities on them. One of my best friends is a huge Bieber fan like huge to the point where she had a Bieber doll.

If you are a brave soul who isn't afraid to rock crazy faces, British flags and celebrity's faces on a sweater try this trend out. But remember with such a crazy sweater it's best to pair these with little to no jewelry, simple jeans and simple flats or heels. One crazy item is enough for one outfit.

Currently Obsessed:Scarves

Currently Obsessed:Scarves

I just started wearing scarves this season(I honestly don't know why I didn't earlier) and I have fallen in love with them! Since I'm in my senior year in a Catholic High school the only way to express yourself is through accessories and while scarves aren't really allowed in school as a senior I could really care less. Anyways my mom and I just recently got the pinkish red Burberry scarf up there mostly because the color is gorgeous and it's not the color that everyone and their mom has(no pun intended). Chunky scarves have been a favorite of fashion bloggers this season and I think it looks gorgeous as more of an understated casual look. Personally I prefer to go with cashmere basic scarves or print scarves. Nancy, my partner in crime is working right now on a video on how to wear your scarves. Hoped you enjoy this :)

Winter Wishist

Winter Wishist

This is my winter wishlist. While a lot of these are very expensive and it will be hard for me to get all of these things I figured this would help me buy everything I need and want instead of impulse buying.

1. NorthFace Jacket: I honestly do not know why I do not have a NorthFace jacket yet but I definitely plan on getting one this winter. I need a good thick jacket for the cold winter months that we are beginning to experience in Dallas.
2. Michael Kors Wallet and Crossbody bag: The Crossbody bag has been on my wishlist since last month when my mom and I visited the Michael Kors store. Lately I have been loving the Crossbody style of bags and I love the design of the MK along with the fact that I don't have any white bags.
3. Sunglasses: Growing up I was not a big fan of sunglasses but lately I have been loving sunglasses. (Don't ask how I survive the blistering hot summers in Dallas without sunglasses...)
4. Hoodies: At home I always wear my sweatshirts and sweatpants with sweater uggs.Going through my closet I realized I only had 3 sweatshirts left that were my size. Definitely a need to get some sweatshirts and Pink has some of the cutest ones.
5. Party Dresses: The winter season calls for a LOT of parties which means a lot of party dresses. While I do have some winter dresses I need some new ones.
6. Naked 2: The only eyeshadows I wear are the neutral ones and Naked has the best neutral eyeshadows.
7. Neutral nailpolishes: As a piano player I can't wear bright nailpolishes or fake nails so the only real option I have is Au natural or neutral.
8. Burberry Scarves: These are expensive and if I get the Michael Kors Crossbody then I can't get these.
9. Gloves: Never was a big fan of gloves but lately playing piano in the cold is very tough and now gloves are welcome in my book.
