Dream wedding (warning random thoughts so it doesn't make sense!)

I don't know why but lately I've been thinking a lot about my dream wedding. When I was younger I always had a dream about a huge lavish princess wedding though recently I've come to realize that's not what I want at all. I actually want a fairly small wedding. And it wasn't until really recently I realized I want an outdoor wedding. So I just want to talk about the details for some reason...to have them written somewhere for whenever my magical day arrives. My dream engagement ring is rather flashy. I want a square halo ring, it's gorgeous and I feel like I will always love my ring. As for my wedding ring I want a simple diamond filled band the same width as the band of my engagement ring. I've sat long and hard on this. I've always wanted to be married on December 21st (long story) but with wanting an outdoor wedding that simply isn't possible. So instead of having my wedding on December 21st I'll be married by the state on that date and then have the wedding the following April on the 22nd (a long story.) My colors are going to be lilac (my grandma's favorite color was lilac) and silver (it's the color of the ribbon for lung cancer which my grandpa died of). I want to have lilies and daisies as my flowers, although I'm not to picky about those although I must have some lilac flowers in my arrangements (my grandma's favorite flowers. They'll have to be fake though because my other grandma is allergic.) As for location I want it to be in the woods. Not deep into the woods but I want trees surrounding the area that have trunks wrapped in white lights with little lanterns strung on the branches with lit candles. I want dark wood chairs for the guests (which will be a small amount). And a simple archway. As for time I want it to be around twilight so the sun is setting. My reception will be held in a nearby barn with lanterns strung from the rafters and lavish tables with a view to a field with lanterns and lights strung nearby so it's lit up for a dance floor. Lastly my gown. I want a simple lace gown with a high neck and a deep back cup out with peal buttons that go to from the small of my back to the bottom of the cut out and from the top of the cut out clear to the top of the neck.

I hope that made some sense...

Music Thoughts: What inspires me

As many of you know I'm an aspiring song writer who's planning on majoring in Piano Performance. So music has been a part of me since I was a little girl (four to be exact). So in that time span there have been many times when I thought about quitting and I would always ask God why he wanted me to play piano.

Inspiration though is a tangible thing, something that is indescribable but I'm going to try to explain what inspires me. For starters in piano when I try to understand & interpret a section I always play it slower and slower until I can ascertain the tone/mood of the passage. And then I slowly speed it back up and it is during those moments that I feel most at peace. In my personal opinion you can't figure out why it inspires you until you slow it down. When it's fast it doesn't have time to sink in and thus you aren't truly inspired by it.

Also inspiration and the beads that link a song together is stripped down. So when I play piano I don't pedal when I am studying the music. It may not sound as polished but it allows me to listen to how the song was when the composer wrote it. Because as I'm sure many of you know the first draft of a song is always simple. It's just lines written in a fit of inspiration, it has no bass beats or complicated riffs. It's just the bare essence and later through time and modern technology the song becomes what you hear on the radio. Which is why live performances for most artists sound more "acoustic" and "stripped down." because that's the organic way it was written.

The rinse! Not the best tasting in the world, but you have to pay a price for a white smile!

The paste. Not a huge fan of having to brush this onto my teeth but a bright smile is worth the minute from looking like an idiot.

The light. My favorite! I love it even if I look like a moron for 2 minutes!

The toothpaste. Taste horrible but white teeth are worth that price, aren't they?
A few weeks ago I wanted to buy a whitening system. Easily done, right? I knew what I wanted. My roommate has the 14 day white strips and they came with another set of white stripes to help keep your teeth white after. I wanted that. Low and behold the wal-mart I went to didn't have that. I could buy the 14 day strips, but I wanted it all. Another system caught our eyes though, and without much thinking we bought it. It's called the Luster Premium 1 hour white. Can I just say how in love I am with it? It's the most perfect system in the entire world! For $40 you get a 8 oz of whitening wash (which amounts to about 20-30 rinses), 10 mL of "super whitener" (which is also 20-30 uses), and a light (that you can use as long as you replace the batteries!) after 3 uses you can see a difference in your smile. I use it in the morning and before bed and within a week my smile is almost flawless. I swear I would preach this product to anyone who ever asked me about it. I love it so much and it's such a good investment! I simply can't say enough about it! Also they have a special whitening tooth paste for $7 that I would totally buy as well! (Which I did! Also invest in a new toothbrush. Seriously, I can't imagine using my old one even though I JUST bought it in September.)

Also this weekend be looking forward to a dorm closet organization post, room tricks, and desk organization!    Fun stuff waiting for you!

Looks for Less: Casual

I saw this picture on polyvore and was instantly drawn to it so I decided to do a look for less(this blog's first one so yay!) Anyways this outfit is one of those effortlessly gorgeous looks. I just want to point out that the MBMJ leggings are only $95 which we all know that by most namebrand jeans that's pretty inexpensive. Also since I am currently finishing my final year at private school I am quite sick of oxfords but those Steve Madden booties may have convinced me to get them...we will see. Lastly I just want to say have a good weekend everyone!

Music Review: JoJo Disaster

If you are anything like me you wondered where the gorgeous girl JoJo went after her two megahits Leave(Get Out) and Too Little Too Late. Well after five years of soul searching and growing up JoJo has graced us with her third album Jumping Trains.
Well the song itself is very JoJo with her strong powerful voice and the pop rock influence. The song may seem quite similar to "Too Little Too Late" and seem more akin to the kind of music five years ago than the evolving pop industry. However, it is a great song for those of you who like powerful lyrics, a powerful voice and miss the kind of pop that was prevalent five years ago instead of the kind of songs Katy Perry and co. comes out with.

Here's the music video:

i cant believe they exist-sweater edition

Photobucket
When I first saw these sweaters on polyvore I had this WTF look on my face. But after looking at it more I realized if ugly Grandma sweaters and Christmas sweaters could be in and "hot" why not these crazy sweaters with celebrities on them. One of my best friends is a huge Bieber fan like huge to the point where she had a Bieber doll.

If you are a brave soul who isn't afraid to rock crazy faces, British flags and celebrity's faces on a sweater try this trend out. But remember with such a crazy sweater it's best to pair these with little to no jewelry, simple jeans and simple flats or heels. One crazy item is enough for one outfit.

Currently Coveting

I was inspired for this post by Bergdorf Princess's Currently Coveting list. Here are the items that I'm currently lusting after. Most of these are accessories because for some reason I've just been drawn to them lately.
[Kate Spade Crossbody bag]

[I love these shoes because they are so bright and colorful and just gorgeous!]

[I've seriously wanted bow heels for the longest time. These are the perfect ones!]

[I just love the gold/colorful chunky bracelet look]

[The best thing about Anthropologie in my opinion is how unique their stuff is and this definitely falls under that.

Hello lovely readers!
I have begun my second quarter as a college student the week before this one and I have to say it's not as stressful as I thought it'd be! I have French class on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30 to 10:48 and Theater and Psychology Tuesday and Thursday 10:25-12:25 and 12:45-2:45. All in all the most stress I've encountered is my living one. It's stressful due to my suitemates not getting along and finally we had a meeting with our RA. As of tomorrow I have a new roommate which happens to be the suitemate I adore, and my room is going to be utterly PERFECT. We went to target and got so much stuff for so cheap! I can't wait to show you guys once we have everything in place but it's going to be another week because I need to bring a painting from home here and some white lights for above our closet. Other than that though it's going to be amazing! I can't wait to show you all! Now to work on some posts inspired by winter!

love you all,
Nancy

Leather Jacket

I finally got my first leather jacket and I'm happy to say I got it for a very good deal. So I went to Michael Kors a week ago and I saw this leather jacket there that was $148 which is a really good deal since it's Michael Kors not some random brand. Anyways, I didn't buy it immediately because I wasn't sure yet if I wanted it. I didn't have time to go back before I started my second semester of my Senior year but my mom surprised me and went to the store and got it for me. Apparently this jacket retails for over 600 dollars and the reason why I got it for so cheap was because a mom brought it for her daughter for Christmas and it didn't fit her so they had to return it.

[A general view of it]

Valentine's day is quickly approaching and I bought Valentine's Day gifts for 3 very special ladies in my life! (Since I don't have a boyfriend to share it with, might as well spoil those who mean the most to me, right?) So  I went to Target and spent roughly $7 on each person (not a lot but still!) so here's what I bought (everything was $1)

This box is Charline's! (Yes the lovely co-owner of this blog!)

I forgot to mention I bought myself a box too, didn't I?

My roommate's box! They each got a lotion, matching bubble bath, flower pot, box of chocolate's, nail polish, and a special gift. My roommate got a pink candle lighter as a gag gift because we tried to buy one in December and we couldn't find any and now we see them everywhere! So I went ahead and bought her one.

My best friend's!

Have a happy Single Awareness day!
